February 2011
We would like to thank Bina and Viraj Suralia and Shelly Bansal for organising the third dinner and dance at Venue 5. The event was a grand success and we raised a smashing£1829.50 for the children of Mountain View. We would also like to thank DJ Atish and Jay Kumar(the choreographer for the evening) for helping in making the event a night to remember. As always, we would like to offer our continued gratitude to the regular supporters without which raising funds would have been difficult.

Mountain View School Update - February 2010
The School has started its journey to self sufficiency. Last year Cherish provided additional funds to buy cows (with some donors providing all the funds to buy a cow and having the privilege to name them), so that the children could have fresh milk every day. The benefit here is that children can now get fresh milk during their morning breaks - all thanks to your support and donations.

The school has now started poultry farming, carpentry, joinery and tailoring. These activities have the benefit of teaching the children a trade that can be used in the outside world as well as providing food, furniture and clothes and generally bringing purpose to their otherwise empty lives. Any surplus from these activities is then sold in the open market to raise funds for buying stationery, text books and other items to contribute towards their education.

February 2010 - 2nd successful dinner & Dance at Venue 5

The Trustees of Cherish would like to thank Bina and Viraj Suralia and Shelly Bansal for organising the second successful dinner and dance event at Venue 5 to raise funds for Cherish International - the proceeds of which went towards the Mountain View School for the Deaf.

Cherish would also like to thank Rati and Carlos (the comperes), Razza Hussain (the photographer) and Atish (the DJ) for providing their professional services and making the event the resounding success that it was.

Cherish has had substantial support from other people through direct donations, attending the event and through providing prizes for the raffle. The trustees of Cherish would like to thank them for all their generous support, participation and contribution.
